RadioLuv is a free internet radio player focused on stations with real DJs,
or at least human-curated programming.
We hope to: have you discover great stations, promote independent broadcasters,
and support musicians everywhere.
Getting started:
When you first load RadioLuv, your browser starts with a default list of stations
called the Core Mix. You can play stations from this list right away,
or explore other stations by clicking the Search button.
Privacy:
We highly value your privacy.
RadioLuv lets you create lists, rate stations, share stations,
and access your data on your other devices —
without sharing an email address or mobile number, or even needing a password!
You'll see how it works (no, it's not Passkeys).
(You can share your contact info to make it easier to recover your data,
but it's never required —
and if you do, we will never share it without your permission.)
Customization:
We encourage you to create your own StationLists with your favorites.
To do so, click the StationLists button, then Create StationList.
If you haven't created a profile, it will prompt you to choose a handle/username first.
Other cool stuff:
If a song has title/artist info, press
Lyrics
to search for them.
Press
History
to see recently played tracks;
each will have also have a Lyrics button to find out more.
The
Share
button lets you share links to stations with your friends, without
disclosing their contact info to RadioLuv.
(See Q about sharing in FAQ below.)
Set a
Sleep Timer,
like on a radio alarm clock.
You can
Add Stations
to RadioLuv under the Main Menu, but most are already in our database,
so try searching first.
Search
allows you to find a station by name, or explore by genre (tag) —
there are tens of thousands of stations out there!
FAQ
Q: How does sharing data with my other devices
— or a station with a friend —
work without disclosing any email addresses or mobile numbers?
A: The RadioLuv server generates a link with a random token and sends it to your browser.
You then send that link to yourself or your friend —
directly from your email or SMS app, without going back through our website.
(In fact, it's impossible for even the RadioLuv browser tab to see any contact info,
so there's no way our server could ever collect it.)
Q: I haven't seen a single G-damn GDPR-mandated cookie consent modal; what's up with that?
A: RadioLuv does not use cookies — how do you like them apples?!
We do use localStorage and IndexedDB in your browser to store your preferences and data,
but a third party can't access those.
So there's no need for cookie consent, as far as we know;
if you're a European privacy rights lawyer, please tell us if we're wrong about that!
